August 7

Starting point: Little Missouri National Grasslands

Ending point: Icelandic State Park (Cavalier, ND)

Dining: Hot dogs for breakfast, bean soup and fleischkiile at the Juicee Burger in Parshall for lunch, hamburgers for dinner.

Accommodations: Icelandic State Park was crowded, but pleasant enough.  We got the last spot available for the night.  The campground had showers!

Thing we learned today we didn't know before: Icelandic State Park is so named because a number of Icelanders settled the area after they found Manitoba too cold.

Memorable person of the day: The old lady outside the grocery store in Watford City.  As we loaded our groceries in Craig's truck, she walked by and growled: "Going camping?  Gonna rain."

Would we come back?  Probably not.

On to August 8
